The year is drawing to a close and the kids have been adorning a Jesse tree with little picture-lessons.

Attempts to make Harriet Laugh
Noah's passionate opposition to snails and slugs in our veggie garden is the highlight here for me.

A Moment with Harriet
A stolen moment with Harriet, between doing other things.
I'll admit, there's not much genuine content here, but hey, obsessing over babies doesn't need content.

Sharks. Cracker Sharks.
Sometimes the kids are placid. Sometimes they're not. Sometimes they're enthused by talk of sharks.

Cheese and Challenge
The Tarago took us to the State's North West this week for a conference (with room to spare!), which proved a really fun time as well as something of a reunion with old friends.
Here are some of our thoughts, as well as a promise of future-cheese.

Rhythms and the Near Horizon
We know a bunch of you pray for us. Thanks heaps.
Here's a bit of a picture of the rhythms of a typical week (work-wise, at least), and a few things we're looking forward to.

Ciabatta
Perhaps I'll change my mind, but right now, the best thing about baking my own bread is ciabatta. Nothing beats it. Salty, oily, gorgeous crust. I just pulled some from the oven and I want to eat the whole thing right now.
One quick thing to inspire you in making ciabatta (in case you never have): it's extremely fun to do with one of your kids. I say one, and I mean it. The initial stage is so moist, it's great: sloppy, sticky, gross. It's the kind of cooking you want to share.
Ciabatta. Perhaps I'll change my mind. Perhaps.
